Wonderful Winter Breakaway!

I was lucky to visit this wonderful guesthouse twice during winter together with my family.

The host, Jeanne, makes you feel at home immediately and really goes out of her way to ensure your comfort.

We especially enjoyed the sumptious breakfasts and subsequent walks around Montague!

Recommends it to anyone who wants to break away for a while.

The breakfasts were exquisite

My wife and I were on honeymoon and I selected a guest house from the portfolio collection so that we could stay in Montagu. We had an amazing stay at Aasvoelkrans which we found in the portfolio guidebook and where we went that night at the last minute. Jeanne only had ten minutes before we arrived and yet it was immaculate, filled with beautiful flowers from the garden. Her personal touches were amazing, there was beautiful attention to detail in everything she did.

A gem

Aasvoëlkrans B&B at Montagu proved to be a gem. Very comfortable accommodation in a peaceful countryside setting on the fringe of town. Charming and attentive hosts who provided those extra touches that make a difference - lovely garden setting, excellent breakfast selection, embroidered linen, fresh flowers in room, sound advice regarding local restaurants and local places to visit. My wife and I would highly recommend Aasvoëlkrans.

Yours sincerely

Dr Harvey Sabine.

A magical stay

Just a quick note to thank you for the magical time we had on honeymoon last week at Aasvoëlkrans. We really appreciated your willingness to take us on such short notice, and especially the flowers and candles you put in our room. Your garden is amazing and we had such a wonderful time there.

We hope to return to Montagu soon!

Finally got out to Montagu and stayed at Aasvoelkrans!!!!!!!! What a stunning place!!! We loved it!!!! I can’t believe how beautiful Montagu is, and the drive to get there is just fantastic! It was damn chilly, but luckily we were snugged up in the larger of the rooms with the underfloor heating!!! We were very lucky with the weather - went up Monday and back on Wednesday - hit all the rain on the way home! Nightmare! But Montagu was fantastic and we’ll definitely be returning.

A truly fabulous holiday

We have now arrived back home minus your wonderful warm air and blue skies!! You may not remember us but we had the pleasure of staying at your delightful home on the 7th February en route to Shamwari on our first visit to South Africa. The country, scenery and it’s people have left a great impression on us and we would like to thank you very much for your hospitality. Colin was most taken by the ‘floral’ additions at Aasvoelkrans, in fact he has great photograph of what was a delicious breakfast complete with bloom!!

The wild side…

One of the places you have to visit in South Africa is our lovely garden route. If you are headed that way, be sure to stay at Moontide - heartily recommended by us!

Set amidst 400-year-old milkwood trees and a profusion of birds and plants, Moontide is the most romantic of retreats. Located on the shores of the Wilderness lagoon, with gardens that flow into its tidal waters, the lodge is a birdwatcher’s paradise, and the seven en-suite cottages and rooms, each with their own entrance and outdoor seating area, are designed to provide you with those real 21st century luxuries: space and privacy. Spend the day exploring the forests and waterfalls of Wilderness National park, or sightseeing the quaint towns of Knysna or Oudtshoorn, but make sure you set aside enough time to unwind in your Moontide hideaway before wandering down to the jetty to catch the ferry to a nearby riverside restaurant. What could be more romantic?

Ons favoriet verblijf

Wij hebben al van vele mooie B&B’s in SA mogen genieten maar ‘ bij Jeanne’ zal altijd ons favoriet verblijf zijn.

The best breakfast in the whole of South Africa

Dear Jeanne,

Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality - we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aasvoelkrans. Little Isabella insists that yours are the best breakfasts ‘in the whole of South Africa’ - high praise indeed. Hope to see you again before too long.

Kind regards,

A very special visit

Fond memories and wonderful hospitality

We have such fond memories or our first stay with you and have spoken often to our friends of the wonderful hospitality you afforded us and of your beautiful home. It would be very special for us to stay with you again so I hope this is possible.

An unforgettable stay

We arrived at Aasvoëlkrans, energy totally gone. From the first cup of tea to the last glass of wine in your beautiful garden we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Bedroom filled with sun and flowers charged out batteries again. Everything in your b&b was energy, creativity, life, love and tons of amusing ideas. We will never forget our stay and will be back!
